Iran rejects the accusations of the United States that the country is behind the attack on two oil fields in Saudi Arabia. According to Tehran, the allegations are “nonsense” and only intended to justify future actions against Iran.
According to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, it is certain that Iran, which supports both the Houthi rebels and Shiite militias in Iraq, is behind the attack. “There is no evidence that the attacks came from Yemen,” Pompeo tweeted. “Among all the calls for de-escalation, Iran has launched an unprecedented attack on the world’s energy supply.”
“Such fruitless and blind accusations are incomprehensible and meaningless,” said the Iranian Foreign Ministry. The attack on two multi-drone oil installations in Saudi Arabia had previously been claimed by the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
