Boeing will carry out a software update in the coming weeks on devices of the 737 MAX-8 type. Let’s hope it will not happen midair. The aircraft maker confirmed this after the American aviation authority informed FAA that it would oblige design changes to Boeing’s offending aircraft by April.
In five months, the Boeing 737 MAX-8 was involved in two aircraft disasters. Last weekend, an aircraft from Ethiopian Airlines crashed, killing all 157 passengers. The same thing happened in Indonesia at the end of last year with a Lion Air aircraft in which 189 people died aboard the aircraft.
Boeing did not refer to the latest crash in the software update notification. The disaster with the Lion Air aircraft had already been a reason for the company to make adjustments to the aircraft.
“To make a safe aircraft even safer”, said Boeing in a rather unfortunate moment.
