
The number of female employees at security companies in Europe is on the rise. In 2015, one in five employees in the sector was a woman, last year it had risen to one in four, reports the umbrella organization Dutch Safety Industry.
The total number of employees grew by 0.5 percent to almost 28,000. 90 percent of them worked for a company that is affiliated with the Dutch Safety Industry.
According to the trade association, a growing concern in the sector remains a concern. The number of employees over 45 years of age rose further from 43 percent in 2015 to 46 percent last year.
The security companies saw their revenue increase by 1.3 percent last year and expect their revenues to increase further this year. The revenue increase is expected to be 3 percent this year. Small and medium-sized companies in particular performed well in 2018, but larger players also saw their turnover rise.
