US President Donald Trump wants the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates. According to Trump, the actions of the American umbrella of central banks have led to a less strong economic growth in the United States.
With that, Trump takes the Fed again. He has often criticized interest rate hikes by the central bank in the past. Now he is even calling for interest rate cuts and further easing of monetary policy. The Fed has since indicated that it will no longer raise interest rates this year.
Last week, Larry Kudlow, Trump’s top adviser, also stated that the White House would like a Fed rate cut. Kudlow emphasized that his words should not be interpreted as an attack on the independence of the Fed.
