Donald Trump wants cheaper oil, presses OPEC to increase output

American President Donald Trump again complained on Thursday about the oil prices that he thought were too high. In a twitter message he once again pointed an accusing finger at the oil cartel OPEC that with production restrictions the price of oil was constantly increasing.

Trump called it “very important” that OPEC countries should increase oil production instead of restricting it.

“Markets around the world are fragile and oil prices are rising too fast,” Trump said.

The twitter message had an effect on oil prices for a short time. Shortly before the opening bell on Wall Street, a barrel of American oil cost $ 58.47, 1.6 percent less than the day before. Brent oil cost 1.6 percent less at $ 66.76 a barrel.
