The service sector in China grew somewhat less in June than in May. This was evident from the purchasing managers index of market researchers Caixin and Markit.
The purchasing managers’ index for the services sector recorded a score of 52 against 52.7 a month earlier. That is the lowest level in four months. A level of 50 or less indicates shrinkage. Economists generally counted on a score of 52.6.
According to the researchers, the composite index, including industry, showed a score of 50.6 for June compared to 51.5 in May.
