Parts of the Syrian city of Aleppo were hit by gas bombs on Saturday night. According to Syrian state media, dozens of people were injured by the released gas. Respiratory problems are widely reported. A number of wounded have been taken to the hospital. Terrorist groups are held responsible for the attack.
Aleppo was for a long time the scene of battle between rebels and the Syrian government. At the end of 2016, the government troops recaptured the city, which was largely destroyed. Since then, many refugee residents have returned.
In the neighboring Idlib region rebels are still in charge. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, seven children and two women were killed in bombing by the government on Saturday.
