Chemical company DSM, together with the Chinese Nenter & Co., will produce vitamin E (tocopherols) in the home country of Nenter. The two companies have set up a joint venture for this purpose.
DSM will become 75% owner of the joint venture and will invest €135 million in the initiative. The joint venture will modernize and refurbish the production facilities of vitamin E in China’s Jingzohou, Hubei. In addition, the partnership will receive a minority interest in the Nenter site in Shishou.
The joint venture offers the chemical producer the opportunity to bring the production of vitamin E for the animal feed industry closer to the Chinese and Asian markets and is better able to meet global demand.
The joint venture is expected to operate in the second or third quarter of this year, depending on regulatory approvals.
