Facebook keeps track of people who ‘pose a threat’

Facebook keeps a list of people that need extra attention, writes CNBC on the basis of several former employees of the company. The list includes users and former employees.

Facebook uses its apps to keep up with threatening messages. In some cases, the location of these users is also retrieved.

Facebook security experts “should look out” to people who pose a potential threat to the company.

“Our security team exists to keep Facebook employees unharmed,” says a spokesman for the company against CNBC. “They use legitimate measures to register threats and to report them to the authorities, if the situation demands it.”

According to Facebook, the company does not break any rules and the privacy of people is guaranteed.

“Any suggestion that our team is breaking the rules is absolutely false.”
