Business activity in the United States increased in November. Research firm Markit reported this on the basis of a provisional figure.
The purchasing managers index for the American industry went to a level of 52.2 from 51.3 a month earlier. Economists generally predicted a level of 51.4 for the indicator, which indicates growth at a level higher than 50.
The index for the US services sector recorded a level of 51.6 for November compared to 50.6 in October. The compiled index was 51.9 against 50.9 in the previous month.
