The nomination of the Republican Herman Cain for a seat on the board of the Federal Reserve, the American central bank remains intact. Cain himself was recently somewhat reserved about his nomination after reports about the lifting of his baptismal plot, but the White House again expressed support for Cain on Sunday.
The Republican was a candidate for the US presidency in 2012, but withdrew from allegations of sexual harassment in the 1990s. Previously he was at the helm of Godfather’s Pizza restaurant chain. He was also chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
President Donald Trump recently announced the nomination of Cain. The Senate still has to approve a possible appointment of Cain.
