Activity in the US services sector grew faster in February than twelve months previously. That information was made available by ISM research institute.
The purchasing managers index, the measure of activity, came to a score of 59.7 compared to 56.7 in January. Economists predicted a level of 57.4 in average. A position above 50 indicates growth, below that on shrinkage.
The British research firm Markit came up with its own definitive figures about the American services sector. That index recorded a position for February of 56.
